Welcome to the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview

Inner Wheel (IW) is the largest women's voluntary service organization in the world, and India has the largest number of Inner Wheel members. The objectives of Inner Wheel Clubs are threefold: to promote true friendship, to encourage the ideals of personal service and to foster a global worldview through international understanding and cultural exchange.

Part of District 314, our IW Club (IWC) was installed on 6th November 2011, with a strength of 50 members, by the then District Chairman Shubhalaxmi Chappwale. We were chartered on 25th January 2012 and received it on 31st March 2012 from PIIW Chairman Dr Pallavi Shah.

"Empower & Evolve" is our international theme for the year 2018-2019.

Message from our Club President TEJAL DAMANI

IWCBB President Tejal Damani From the moment I accepted the challenge of being the President of one of the most dynamic Inner Wheel clubs in Mumbai, I have experienced mixed emotions. The excitement of the impending adventure interlaced with a distinct awareness of the great responsibility that comes with the title.

Effective leadership is only 50% individual competence and ability. The rest is a combination of teamwork and opportunity. For the past 7 years, our leaders in the club have adroitly managed this formula. This responsibility rests on my shoulders now. And I am certain that with the assistance of my discerning past presidents and very enthusiastic members I will lead Bayview to yet another year of acclaimed achievements.

I began my tryst with charitable associations in Social Work with Jaycees. My friendship with service took me to Rotary and now I am in the august company of committed women. Here I silently pray to the lord, reminding him to prepare me to serve, whenever or wherever there is a need, ensuring that my abilities as a privileged woman are not wasted in vain.

Message from our District Chairman VIDYA SUBRAMANIAN

IWCBB District Chairman Dr. VIDYA SUBRAMANIAN One of the things most inspiring is women openly supporting and lifting each other up. With so many obstacles on the road to gender equality, we don't need to create another one getting in our own way. Despite our culture's nasty habit of trying to pit us against each other, we can help propel each other forward instead of holding each other back. By drawing on support from other women, we can harness the collective energy of our peers to help us feel less alone.

Our International Inner Wheel President, Christine Kirby has given a wonderful theme for this year - Empower and Evolve. The education and empowerment of women throughout the world cannot fail to result in a more caring, tolerant, just and peaceful life for all. Look around. Everything changes. Everything on this earth is in a continuous state of evolving, refining, improving, adapting, enhancing, and changing.

Caring for Women and Girls is the Service Logo for the next three years. As part of an International Women's Organization, we have always been working towards this. When there are no ceilings, the sky's the limit. So let's keep going - let's keep going until every one of the millions of women and girls across the world has the opportunity she deserves to have.

Wishing Tejal and her team a wonderful and fruitful year. Open the door to the future, step up and start a new chapter in your life. Every accomplishment starts with a decision to try.

Here's to all the Committed and Ambitious Women of Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview - Be that strong girl that everyone knew would make it through the worst. Be that fearless woman, the one who would dare to do anything. Be that independent leader who never backs out.
