Message from our Club President
DIPA KAPADIA

IWCBB President Dipa Kapadia It is a privilege to serve as the president for this incredible community of women in its Centurion Year. Yes, this is the Centurion Year for the Inner Wheel Organization.

To me, the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview is more than just a club, it is a family where we support and empower each other to make a positive change.

This year, I hope to focus is on humanitarian service, friendship and personal growth. Together, I would like to work towards improving the lives of those in need, developing ourselves as leaders, and building stronger bonds of sisterhood. Over the years, the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview has been making a proud mark within the District and we should carry on this tradition.

The theme that I would like to use for this year is “You attract the energy that you give off…Spread positive vibes.” By spreading positive vibes, we can uplift and inspire others, fostering a more positive and harmonious environment. Positivity has a way of creating a ripple effect, influencing the people we interact with and even shaping our own mindset and experiences. So let's strive to radiate positivity, kindness, and optimism, as it can make a meaningful difference in our lives and the lives of those around us.

the Centurion Theme of “Shine a Light” adds an extra layer of significance to our endeavors. I encourage each and every member to get involved, to share their ideas, and to collaborate to make this year a special year.

I am sure through our collective efforts we will “Shine a Light” and make a real difference in the lives of others.

About Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview

Inner Wheel (IW) is the largest women's voluntary service organization in the world, and India has the largest number of Inner Wheel members. The objectives of Inner Wheel Clubs are threefold: to promote true friendship, to encourage the ideals of personal service and to foster a global worldview through international understanding and cultural exchange.

Part of District 314, our IW Club (IWC) was installed on 6th November 2011, with a strength of 50 members, by the then District Chairman Shubhalaxmi Chappwale. We were chartered on 25th January 2012 and received it on 31st March 2012 from PIIW Chairman Dr Pallavi Shah.

As Inner Wheel commemorates her 100th anniversary of formation, President Trish Douglas gives a clarion call to members to work hard and work smart for a better future for the next generation.

Therefore, “Shine A Light” is the theme of two flagship initiatives which are critical to make that happen:

(1) Brighten Lives for the Future: The world is experiencing unprecedented natural catastrophes of apocalyptic proportions. We know the issues are huge and the impacts widespread. If unchecked and unreversed, the next generation will have to fight for survival. Today, many communities suffer from the lack of clean air and clean drinking water; flimsy protection against the cold and the heat; and the loss of home and refuge. The future of the world looks dire. How can we brighten lives and give hope for the future?

(2) Mental Wellness Brightens Lives: There are increasing reports of mental illnesses, stress, trauma, victimisation, and displacement which have resulted in suicides, shootings and stabbings, violence such as domestic abuse and homelessness. It is a darkness in lives, filled with negativity and destruction. Many Inner Wheel Clubs worldwide have been actively supporting to uplift and brightening the lives of those who are hurt and in pain. More can be done, for the work is unfinished.
