The District Rally was held at Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium in Thane. It was a fashion show to help display our rich cultural heritage in the form of Baluchari and Paithani craftsmanship. Dances by all participating clubs was also on the agenda, and songs had to have the word Gold in the mukhda. The dance form was Odissi on a western song.
Our 3rd GBM was held at Prabhadevi, and the correspodning fellowship to follow it was an Ikebana Workshop. Everyone enjoyed the flower arrangement workshop and we also raised money by auctioning the 3 best bouquets. The money raised from this auction was used to donate protein powder, toys and medicines to the paediatric ward of JJ Hospital.
Our 4th GBM was on Zoom. The corresponding fellowship was organised as a family treasure hunt on 3rd Oct 2021. Prizes were won for Best Dressed Team as well as the winning prize for the first team to arrive. Our judge for the Best Dressed Team was Zonal Cordinator of Zone 1 Yamini Iyer. We were thrilled to have her join us and the members enjoyed interacting with her before the event started. The youngest participant was a one year old kid who was a member's son. This treasure hunt was a food trail where every team had a specially assigned food dish which was pre-ordered for them - but they only got it if they guessed the clues and completed the treasure hunt! All in all, lots of fun and food were had by all!!
Our 5th GBM was held at Wockhardt Towers in BKC.
Our Jan GBM was held on Zoom on the 26th which was followed by a cancer awareness workshop by Dr Reshma Palep.
We had our 7th GBM in Chandigarh with 43 members present. This trip was filled with fun and laughter!! We had 2 amazing dress-up themes. One was a Wild Wild Best theme with a touch of chandigarh, the second was a Bohemian theme in an open restaurant with hats and sunglasses.
Our Club ISO Anuja Shah arranged an awesome event while we were in Chandigarh for the Annual Away trip. She organised an exchange of flags with the ISO of 10 clubs as well as the ISO of Amritsar Club. The incoming District Chairman of Chandigarh and the incoming District ISO graced this occassion, and this event of ours found mention in the local Chandigarh press.
We also went to Kasauli from Chandigarh and exchanged flags with the ISO of Kasauli, with the President and ISO present there too.
Eight of us from IWCBB attended the 52nd District conference at ITC Maratha. It was such a proud moment for our Club as District Vice Chairman Mita Sheth accepted the post of District Chairman 2022-23. To have one of ours hold this esteemed position, just as we celebrate our 10th Year of Charter is indeed a moment of pride for all of us who are a part of IWCBB.
President Elect 2022-23 Sonia Gupta, IPP Smeeta Jhunjhunwala, PP Tejal Damni, PP Hemangi Shah, past and present Ex-comm members Vinita Maroo and Mamta Shah were there to show their support as well.
On the 26th of March, we had not just our 8th GBM, but also the mega spectacular 10th year charter celebrations. This grand event was held at the Reserve Banquet in Upper Worli. 50 members attended this event, which all were very enthusiastic and excited about.
This day was all about celebrating the Past Presidents for their hard work, dedication, love and care given to IWCBB, due to which it has grown to proudly shine as one of the best clubs of Inner Wheel!
The surprise factor was inviting their family to this event, as they played a very important role during their Presidentships. Red rose petals were showered on the red carpet for each past president, and their family spoke sweet somethings about them. Every Past President was given a gift, along with a different song, especially dedicated to each of them, when they walked the red carpet. Current President Grishma Doshi introduced each PP with a self written and personalised shayri.
We displayed a photo gallery of the one project that was closest to the heart of every PP in her year. A South Indian sit down dinner was served for the evening. District Sec Pallavi Choksi, District Treasurer Prerna Raichur and District Editor Mona Gyani graced this occasion with their presence, making the evening that much more memorable.
The 9th GBM was held electronically and for our associated fellowship, we went for Runway 34 to Inox at Nariman Point. 26 members came for this movie and we had a great time bonding with each other. The first half of the movie had our heart beats racing and kept us on the edge of our seats. We all enjoyed the movie and the camaraderie shared will be remembered for a long time.
My year's last GBM was held at St Regis, along with the AGM and 4th ECM of the year 2021-2022. I have come full circle, having started my journey from St Regis with my installation, and now ended my journey here as well, giving my thank yous to all my members!
This was followed by a minute to win it games and the members had a blast. A big and tasty lunch awaited them and they each went home happily with a gift from the President Grishma Doshi.
This was an emotional meet as my Presidentship came to an end, with having created so many beautiful memories that will last me a lifetime.
My heartfelt thanks to you, my wonderful team and all the beautiful IWCBB members for this fantastic year!
DC Sunita Jain graciously threw us a Shukriya party to appreciate our year and also gave us a Certificate of Appreciation. We had a small entertainment planned and were given a gift too. It was a memorable afternoon well spent.
