JEEVADAYA

Yet another one of our ongoing projects is compassionate assistance to our four legged brethen. We assist all kinds of animals in many different ways - building shelters, feeding them and providing medical care for these voiceless creatures.

This year we flagged off Jeevadaya by sponsoring the laddoo feed at Anand Dham Gaushala in Virar, which we support. We also assist the animal shelter Bhumi Jeevdaya in Vashi, as well as the Surat Panjrapole Gaushala. Feeding of pigeons at Chowpatty is carried out at regular intervals. Cow shelters are built, injured and sick animals and birds treated, and all animals fed on a regular basis as well as special treats on occasions.

In addition to the above mentioned places which we support on a consistent basis, we also occasionally help these places too: Sangamner Gaushala, Surajgarh Goshala.

In February 2023, PP Rajni Barasia, acting on behalf of IWCBB, contributed for the food for the 100 cows in a goshala in Surajgarh, along with a donation of Rs. 50,000 for medical equipment required for the surgery in a veterinary hospital, especially for injured cows. We also distributed gifts to all the young volunteers of the hospital.

In March 2023, our Club sponsored a Cautery machine through Bhumi Jeevdaya which runs an animal medical centre at Vashi. A cautery machine is a device that uses heat to remove unwanted or harmful tissues. It is used in surgeries or after an injury to prevent blood loss. The electrocautery machine produces an electrical current that generates heat. Being near the highway, everyday there are many accidental cases coming to their centre at Vashi. Thus by donating this machine we can help them save the lives of many animals.
