During 2025-26, the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview has embraced a wide array of initiatives and programs aimed at fostering social welfare and serving the community. Our endeavors address critical areas such as health, education, environmental sustainability, and aid for marginalized groups. By working together, we aspire to create meaningful and lasting improvements in the lives of those who require assistance, making a tangible difference in the well-being of individuals and communities alike.
Last week, in a heartfelt tribute to her late father, our member Aditi Ahuja donated a hospital bed and a walker to those in need at BYL Nair Hospital. In a similar gesture, Charu’s friend Mita Choraria donated excess diapers, a wheelchair, and medicines to the hospital after the sad demise of her mother.
Aditi also extended support by donating two wheelchairs to a paraplegic boy, helping restore his dignity and independence. Additionally, our club presented a brand-new wheelchair to an elderly lady suffering from osteoporosis due to ageing.

On 8th July 2024, we donated 100 PICC lines and 10 PORT lines to support children undergoing treatment for cancer and Thalassemia Major. These medical devices help make the administration of medicines and blood transfusions significantly less painful and more comfortable. The initiative benefited 110 children and was completed at a total cost of ₹17,00,000.

On 2nd July 2025, four fully renovated classrooms were inaugurated at Yusuf Meherally School for slum children of Tulsiwadi (Tardeo). The renovation included waterproofing, tiling, fresh painting, new lights and fans, replacement of glass windows, and creation of storage areas. This transformation has created a safe and inspiring learning environment for 200 students. The project was completed at a total cost of ₹10,00,000, reaffirming our commitment to quality education for underprivileged children.
A stationery and notebook distribution drive was conducted at Gilder Lane Municipal School, benefiting 150 students. Essential learning materials were provided to support their academic journey and encourage regular school attendance. The project was successfully completed at a total cost of ₹48,500, reaffirming our commitment to nurturing education and empowering young minds.
On 1st July 2025, two nursery classrooms at S. S. Shahney School were renovated with waterproofing, fresh painting, tiling, and vibrant educational charts. This transformation created a safe and cheerful learning environment for 60 young children. The project was coordinated by Anuja Shah and completed at a total cost of ₹1,70,000, reflecting our commitment to quality education and child welfare.
Enriching Minds – Educational Book Donation Drive: On 2nd August 2025, storybooks along with educational general knowledge and grammar books were donated to the English medium section of Yusuf Meherally High School. The books were generously contributed by Manisha Shah’s friend to support and enhance the learning experience of the children. We sincerely thank Manisha for thoughtfully coordinating this meaningful initiative.
Celebrating Freedom – 79th Independence Day with Young Hearts :The Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with the children of Geeta Nagar Slums, where the tiny tots were beautifully dressed in patriotic themes and enthusiastically performed to patriotic songs, making it a heartwarming and memorable experience for everyone present. We sincerely thank Rajni for coordinating the celebration and extend our gratitude to Reepa for accompanying and supporting this joyful initiative
Creative Celebrations – Ganesh Chaturthi Youth Development Initiative : Under the Youth Development category, the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi by distributing 100 Skillmatics Paintopedia kits to the children of Muktangan School for a joyful Ganesha painting workshop. The excitement and happiness on the children’s faces made the celebration truly special, and chocolates were also distributed to add to the festive cheer. We thank Club Secretary Meghna Sanghvi and Delnaaz Deolaliwala for attending and supporting the activity. The project was completed at a cost of ₹35,000.
Dignity in Care – Hygiene Support for Girl Students :On 25th September 2025, we distributed 500 pairs of short slacks to 250 girl students of Gilder Lane Municipal High School to promote hygiene, cleanliness, and confidence among students from slum areas. The project was completed at a total cost of ₹54,450. We sincerely thank Ritu Vasa for generously supporting this cause and for personally attending the distribution to help make the initiative meaningful and impactful.
Healthy Smiles, Healthy Lives - Check-Up Camp : On 2nd July 2025, a complete medical and dental health check-up camp was conducted at Bai R. F. D. Panday High School for nearly 300 girls from Nursery to Grade 10. The ophthalmology team from Wockhardt Foundation carried out detailed eye examinations, while the Indian Orthodontic Dental Association along with a team of 25 doctors conducted comprehensive dental check-ups and awareness sessions on hygiene and dental emergencies. Our member Dr. Shimoni Kadakia examined skin health, and new member Dr. Dipti Mody conducted general health assessments. We thank IPP Tanvi Parikh for coordinating the camp and express gratitude to all volunteers for their dedicated support.
Protecting Futures – Cervical Cancer Vaccine Awareness Workshop : On 15th July 2025, a Cervical Cancer Vaccine Awareness Workshop was conducted at Bai R. F. D. Panday School for Girls for parents of students aged 9 to 16 years. The session was organised in collaboration with Cancer Prevention Association, where expert doctors explained the importance of the HPV vaccine in building immunity against cervical cancer and other HPV-related cancers. Consent forms were distributed to interested parents following the session. This meaningful district initiative was jointly undertaken with Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Pier, reinforcing our commitment to preventive healthcare and community awareness.
Gift of Life – Blood Donation Drive :We were proud to be a co-host club for a Blood Donation Drive held at Dadar Railway Station. The drive witnessed an encouraging response from donors, and a total of 103 bottles of blood were successfully collected during the day. This life-saving initiative reflects the spirit of community service and collective responsibility towards those in need of urgent medical care.
Steps Towards Dignity – Support for Leprosy-Affected Patients :On 4th August 2025, under the leadership of Club President Dr. Kanan Mehta, the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview, in association with ALERT-INDIA, donated special protective footwear and medical kits to 50 leprosy-affected patients. This thoughtful initiative aimed to prevent further injuries, promote mobility, and restore dignity, reaffirming our commitment to compassionate healthcare and inclusive community support.
Fragrance of Empowerment – Agarbatti Making Workshop :We conducted a successful skill-development project empowering 60 women from the slums of Sewri by teaching them how to make agarbattis and become financially independent through this livelihood skill. The workshop was conducted by the dedicated team from Suvarna Sanskar Foundation, who guided the participants with practical training and encouragement.
The initiative benefited 60 women and was completed at a project cost of ₹10,000, fostering self-reliance and sustainable income opportunities.
Sustaining Hope – Monthly Ration Support Initiative : With heartfelt gratitude to all our donors, we distributed monthly ration kits to 20 single mothers and widowed women through the Sona Sarovar Trust. This initiative aims to ease their financial burden and ensure food security for their families. We look forward to continued donor support to help us provide regular monthly rations and sustain this meaningful effort for the women in need.
Tree Plantation : To promote sustainable livelihoods, 100 fruit-bearing saplings were distributed in the Ravatepada area of Vikramgad. These saplings will support local families by creating future income opportunities. The project was thoughtfully coordinated by Rajni Barasia and completed at a cost of ₹15,000. We sincerely thank our generous donors for their valuable support in making this initiative possible.
Empowering Tribal Education : On 4th July 2025, we undertook a heartfelt rural project in Patalganga (Rasayani area), in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Patalganga. Essential stationery items including Inner Wheel branded school bags, shoes, umbrellas, compass boxes, crayons, drawing books, and notebooks were distributed to tribal children across eight schools.
This joint initiative by IPP Tanvi Parikh (IWC Bombay Bayview 2024–25) and Dr. Kanan Mehta (IWC Bombay Bayview 2025–26) benefited 500 children. With a total project cost of ₹3,00,000, the initiative aimed to encourage school attendance and promote education among underserved communities.

Flow of Hope – Water Tank Inauguration for Tribal Community : On 3rd August 2025, we inaugurated four water tanks donated to the tribal community at Ketkipada, Aarey Colony. This initiative was undertaken jointly with Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Hanging Garden, Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Queen's Tiara, and Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Pier under Zone 1.
The water tanks will ensure regular water supply to the tribal community, sparing women the hardship of walking through the forest between 1:00 am and 4:00 am to access BMC water. With a project cost of ₹3,20,000, this life-changing initiative will benefit nearly 25,000 villagers.
Shelter from the Storm – Tarpaulin Distribution Drive : On 14th August 2025, we donated tarpaulins to 350 tribal families residing in the Ketkipada region within the forest area of Aarey Colony, helping protect their huts and shanties from incessant monsoon rains. This timely support brought much-needed relief and security to vulnerable families during the rainy season.
The project was completed at a total cost of ₹59,500, benefiting 350 families. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the generous donors of our Club for making this meaningful initiative possible
Tree Plantation Drive: On 1st July 2025, we marked the beginning of the Inner Wheel year with a meaningful tree plantation initiative in the urban region. Fifty trees were planted at Worli Ambedkar Bhavan. Coordinated by Arjun Meghe, the project saw enthusiastic participation from dedicated members. The initiative was completed at a cost of ₹15,000, reinforcing our commitment to a greener tomorrow.
Sports Equipment Donation: Sports equipment was donated to specially abled children at the Savera Centre, managed by Maharashtra State Women’s Council. Items including yoga mats, exercise cycles, an aerobic cycle, footballs, skipping ropes, and other sports essentials were provided to encourage physical fitness and recreation.
On 26th September 2025, we installed a complete E-Learning system at Wilson High School, including a Smart TV, dedicated educational software, Android connectivity box, and wireless mouse for ease of teaching. The system provides a comprehensive curriculum from 5th to 10th standard in both English and Marathi medium. With access to digital teaching aids, interactive modules, and audio-visual resources, this initiative is set to significantly enhance the learning experience of 300 students. The project was completed at a cost of ₹55,000, marking a meaningful step towards modern, technology-enabled education.
At the Zilla Parishad School Dabhon Lahangepada, we donated a Smart TV to support E-Learning and promote digital education for primary students. This initiative aims to enhance classroom teaching through audio-visual content and interactive learning methods, making education more engaging and effective.
The project was completed at a cost of ₹32,000 and will benefit 56 students of the primary section, empowering young learners with improved access to digital resources.
We are delighted to share that our club is joining hands with Zone 1 for the Zonal Project – Donation of TPN Kits in collaboration with Cuddles Foundation at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, supported by our CSR partner Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Ltd.. The project will be held on 1st October 2025, with DC Lakshmi Singh as the Chief Guest. With an estimated total project cost of ₹2,15,000 and our club’s contribution of ₹1,000, this initiative aligns with the international theme “Reach & Inspire” promoting health and wellness for a better world.
On 13th September 2025, our most cherished project, Sewa Kitchen, was lovingly conducted during the pitrupaksh period at a vacant flat arranged by our Club Secretary Meghna Sanghvi. Members came together to personally cook and pack meals for nearly 350 children — 150 from Yusuf Meherally High School, 125 from Wilson High School, 50 from Raksha Foundation, and other children from the Colaba slums. Members generously donated ingredients, gifts, and goodies, making it a heartfelt initiative filled with service, unity, and compassion.
The Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview organised a Medical Camp on 18th September 2025 at Tardeo Police Station in collaboration with the Wockhardt Foundation. The camp aimed to promote health awareness and preventive care for 60 police personnel who tirelessly safeguard our society. Services included complete body check-ups (blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, routine investigations), ophthalmic evaluation, ECG studies, medications and supplements, along with a specialized IIV screening for early detection of blockages and risk indicators. All 60 members were successfully screened, with several early-stage risks identified for timely follow-up. We thank Priti Dak and Sadhna Sheth, and extend special appreciation to Samina for coordinating the initiative seamlessly.
At Anand Dham Gaushala, all the cows were lovingly fed laapsi for a week, along with grass feed sponsored by generous anonymous donors. At Bhumi Jeevdaya, paneer, vegetarian pedigree, urgent medical treatment, and 110 kgs of DROOLS vegetarian feed were provided, especially as the number of injured dogs increased during the monsoon. We also supported veterinary treatment for injured animals at Empathy Unlimited Foundation, including accident cases and severe wounds, along with sponsoring 208 kgs of rice. Heartfelt gratitude to Vedika Jhunjhunwala, her friends, and our anonymous donors for their unwavering compassion and timely support.
Serving with Love – Meal Sponsorship for Senior Citizens: With deep gratitude, we thank two anonymous donors for sponsoring whole-day meals and another anonymous donor for sponsoring lunch and fruits for all the senior citizens at Swargiya Gopichand Poniya Ashram. Their generosity brought nourishment, comfort, and joy to the elderly residents, reflecting the true spirit of compassion and community care.
Annadaan Seva – Honouring Our Ancestors with Compassion: In a heartfelt tribute to our ancestors, we served freshly prepared meals to nearly 200 people at Shiv Shakti Nagar and around 500 at Geeta Nagar, spreading warmth and nourishment within the community. Halwa was also distributed to the homeless living under the Lower Parel Bridge, ensuring that no one was left out of this act of kindness. It was a beautiful expression of gratitude, remembrance, and selfless service through annadaan.
“SPARSH”: On 1st and 2nd July 2025, a “Sparsh” awareness programme was conducted at S. S. Shahney High School for students of Grades 1 to 4, covering three divisions of each grade. The sessions focused on sensitively educating children about safe and unsafe touch in an age-appropriate manner. Project Coordinator Anuja Shah conducted seven impactful sessions over two days, reaching a total of 231 children and empowering them with essential knowledge for their personal safety and well-being.
Career Fairs: A Career Guidance Fair was successfully organised at Lady Engineer High School for Grade 10 students from Lady Engineer High School and Bai R. F. D. Panday School. Around 150 students benefited from valuable insights shared by leading institutes including K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Nirmala Niketan College of Home Science, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, K. E. M. Hospital, Anjuman-I-Islam Institute of Hotel Management, Sophia B. K. Somani Institute of Applied Art, Sports Management Institute, and Digital Market Training Institute.
Professionals from diverse fields such as Indian Railways, physiotherapy, architecture, law, psychology, forensic psychology, fashion designing, graphic designing, finance, hospitality, and UPSC preparation also guided students.
We thank our members Priti Barai, Mona Babla, Reepa Jasani, Poonam Mashru, Shivani Patel, Rotarian Shweta Doctor, and extend special gratitude to Tejal Desai and Jigna Jhaveri for ensuring the seamless execution of this impactful initiative.
Safety First – Burns Awareness Workshop: A Burns Awareness Workshop was successfully conducted by Mr. Navin from the National Burns Centre at B.K.M. School in two sessions, benefiting 160 students of Classes 5th to 8th who learned essential first-aid techniques for various types of burns. The project was attended by CC Mona Babla, IPP Tanvi Parikh, Club Secretary Meghna Sanghavi, and new member Priti Jhindal. We sincerely thank Tejal Damani for arranging the workshop and Tanvi Parikh for coordinating seamlessly with the school.
In the Spotlight – Media Recognition for Rural Education Support: We are proud to share that our stationery distribution project was featured in the local newspaper. The initiative provided Inner Wheel branded school bags along with notebooks, shoes, water bottles, and essential supplies to 500 children in the Rasayani tribal area.
This impactful project was conducted in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Patalganga, District 3131, and was a joint effort between Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview (2024–25) and Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview (2025–26), reflecting our continued commitment to rural education and community upliftment.
